Placebo effect

 A 35 year old female patient had came to clinic for restoration of carious teeth. there were many lot of carious tooth in her oral cavity.
we have planed to do tooth no 15( FDI SYSTEM) which was more carious and as she had mild throbbing pain with respect to that teeth due to reversible pulpitis.
while excavating the caries she was not allowing to work so we have plane to work with local infiltration after giving infiltration she allowed to work . actually that was becouse of sensitivity she was not allowing to work becouse the caries was deep. A nice cavity preparation done and zinc oxide euginol pack was given as it was too deep.
meanwhile we have decided to remove caries from one more time as next appointed patient had not yet come.

tooth no 25( FDI SYSTEM) which was not that deep as previous one still she was complaining of sensitivity and does not allow to work. WHAT I DID IS....I TOLD HER I NEED TO GIVE LOCAL INFILTRATION FOR THIS TEETH ALSO....AND SHOWED HER SYRINGE AND JUST TAKEN IN ORAL CAVITY AND PUT IT BACK..........The PLACEBO effect worked and she allowed to do cavity preparation smoothly ( G. V BLACKS CLASS II  as there was proximal caries).

PROSTHETIC EXPERIENCE

A 65 year old female patient named shantabai had came to clinic for replacement of her missing teeth, during treatment she was very coperative and use to come before appointment time.

all the appointment goes smooth but on the day of denture delivery while waiting for her turn to come she got sudden pain in the retrosternal region and started sweating and she felt on the floor.
she has been taken immeditely to nair medical hospital for checkup she got same episode there also
following measures has been taken
1) blood pressure which was 160/80
2) ECG which was normal
3) sublingual isosorbitrate
 whilst she started vomiting. and she has been admitted to ward and further treatment was started
all the investigation has been done but etiology was not found doctors told mostly it could be due to acidity becouse she doesnot had breakfast that day.
denture delivery was posponded till she got completely cured.

NEVER CALL OLD PATIENT IN MORNING,,,IF PLANING TO DO THAT TELL THEM TO HAVE SOMETHING AND THEN COME
ALWAYS ASK TO ACCOMPANY OLD PATIENT WITH THEIR RELATIVES
